Join The Greene County Team!
After completing CERT basic training, you'll have the option to register with the Office of Emergency Management as an official CERT volunteer. As a registered member, your name will be added to a pool of core volunteers the OEM may call upon for assistance in a variety of roles during both disasters (ice storms, tornadoes, floods, etc.) or pre-planned events (fairs, parades, concerts, etc.). You will also be eligible for enhanced training in a variety of disaster preparedness & response courses we offer only to registered volunteers.
Registration is easy; all you need to do is fill out a volunteer application form and submit to a background check. By registering as a CERT member, you are agreeing to abide by the policies set forth in our standard operating guidelines (SOGs) while acting in an official CERT capacity. A copy of our volunteer registration form and background check procedures can be found below, along with a copy of our SOGs.
